Schematic Design Phase

• JDH assists the client in selecting a cost efficient structure that provides the owner with the greatest value. This includes schematic development of typical bay framing with sizes of main members. Lateral stability is considered for general system implementation.

Design Development Phase

• JDH works with the client to move the project from concept to the beginning of working drawings.
• Consideration is given to specific structural and architectural details that require development prior to the start of Construction Documents.
• During this phase preliminary framing plans are developed, with main components defined.

Construction Documents

• This phase essentially "builds" the structure on paper. Constructability and relationship to other building trades are considered to minimize potential difficulties during actual construction
• JDH finalizes the structural design using the latest computer software for design analysis and document preparation of the project.
• JDH is committed to including all appropriate details required to adequately convey the intent of the structural design.

Construction Administration

• When design is actually implemented in construction, JDH remains a part of this phase by providing vital services to keep construction within the parameters of the design intended.
• Review of shop drawing submittals relative to the structure.
  Coordination with specialty vendor designed items that impact the structure.
• Assist the client and contractor in clarifying questions arising during construction with regard to the intent of the design documents.
• Make periodic site visits for general review within the agreed contract scope.
